What Has God Called Us to Be and Do?

Our Vision: To be a people who glorify God and enjoy Him forever... (Num 14:21, Hab 2:14, Isa 6:3, II Cor 4:6)

Our Mission: Anchor Fellowship is called to make disciples of Jesus Christ so that the earth may be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the LORD.—RPT, A-86,2

Our Values
THE BIBLE: The Bible is God`s Word. It is relevant today and is the only infallible rule for faith and life. It contains everything we need to grow in our understanding of God. All we do should follow the teachings of the Bible. It is God`s owner`s manual for His creation.

WORSHIP: It is our joy and duty to seek the Glory of God through daily and weekly worship in praise and through teaching and reading of His word. We value the regulative principle.

DOCTRINAL PURITY: We commit to promote the teachings of the Reformed Faith which say that salvation is by grace alone through faith.

CHILDREN: “Children are a gift of the LORD”, therefore the Training and upbringing of them is of high importance to us.

FAMILIES: We believe that the family unit is God’s basic building block of the church and society. As such we will do all within our power to promote and strengthen families in our church.

LOST PEOPLE: We seek to have God’s heart for those around us who do not know the Great Shepherd.

COMPASSION: We will try to show compassion to those who are lost and in need within and outside of the church, even when our duty involves correction.

DISCIPLESHIP: We seek to train all those who are in our midst in Christ’s teachings, to see continual growth and fruitfulness.

EDUCATION: Jesus commissioned the Church to teach the nations to observe all that He’d commanded, so we value a biblical world and life view. We will teach it to our children and the world.

COMMUNITY: Anchor is located in Waldorf, Maryland. We care about our neighbors. We will center our activities here. We value the greater DC area and will be involved in church planting throughout the region.

COMMUNITY OF THE CHURCH: God`s church is His people. It is made up of members of many ages, races, and backgrounds. God equips all His people to do a variety of work in His world. Jesus calls us to "love one another." We encourage everyone at Anchor to be involved in a home group. This is where we learn, serve, build relationships, and have fun.

COMMUNITY IN THE Reformed Presbyterian Church of North America (RPCNA): We look for our members to be involved in activities (eg. camps, outreach, conferences), communication, and prayer for the churches of the RPCNA.

Our Strategy:
We see Anchor Fellowship accomplishing this mission in the following ways:

THROUGH WORSHIP: providing the opportunity for regular biblical, God honoring worship. (Ps 86:9-13, Ps 96, Ps 106:47, Rev 15:3,4)

BY EVANGELISM: acquainting people with the glory of God in the Gospel. (Rom 3, Rom 9:22-24, II Cor 4:6,7,15)

BY TEACHING: teaching people to put biblical principles into action for the glory of God. (I Pet 2:12, I Cor 10:3, Mat 28:19,20)

BY SERVICE: doing good works to the glory of God.—(II Tim. 3:16,17, Matt 5:16, I Pet 4:11)

THROUGH FELLOWSHIP: by cultivating love for one another among the people of God to show forth the glory of God.—(Ps 133; Rom 15:5-12)
